Science has shown that people who are age 50, or older, are prone for colonic problems, especially colonic polyps.
Polyps are benign growths in the colonic wall that may grow with time. If unnoticed, and not removed in the proper time, these benign growths may transform to cancer in a period of 10-15 years. Colonic exam using the flexible endoscope, "Colonoscopy" , can identify these polyps and remove them using special devices through the endoscope, without the need for hospital stay or surgery or anesthesia.
This procedure prevents colon cancer!!!
Therefore it is advised to be done routinely in all people age 50 or above.
