Esophago-Gastro-Duodenoscopy (Gastroscopy):

  • Helicobacter pylori bacteria testing and treatment
  • Esophageal dilation of strictures
  • Metallic stenting of malignant strictures ( see picture of esophageal metal stent )
  • Variceal Rubber Band Ligation/sclerotherapy
  • Treatment of bleeding ulcer endoscopically
  • Enteryx Procedure: (lower esophageal sphincter polymer injection
    for treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease)

Colonoscopy:

  • Recommended to be done for every person above age 50, for colon cancer prevention.
  • Polyp detection and excision (prevents progression to colon cancer).Click here for Colon Polyps
  • Cautery for bleeding lesions

Endoscopy for the pancreas and bile ducts (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-pancreatography)

  • Removal of stones from within bile ducts and pancreas
  • Plastic and metal stent placement for obstruction (stricture) of the bile duct or pancreas
  • Treatment of complications of gall bladder surgery


Liver Interventions:

  • Liver biopsy: To diagnose the cause of liver disease
  • Radiofrequency therapy for liver tumors
  • Intra-arterial chemo-embolization for liver tumors
  • Percutaneous Transhepatic Cholangiography (PTC), external and internal drainage.
